Seeking a hybrid UI/UX Product Designer and Frontend Developer for a contract, project-based role to develop a structured web-based platform. This role involves supporting both the design and implementation of the user experience, from early architecture and MVP development through to full product release. Overview
The project is the development of a structured web-based platform "on a budget". We are seeking a (Jr./Sr.)
UI/UX Product Designer with Frontend Development capability
to support both the design and implementation of the user experience.
This is a project-based contractor engagement, focused initially on the design and delivery of a Minimum Viable Product (MVP). We prefer candidates who can support both
design and frontend execution
, and extend into a full product release.
This role will help shape how users interact with the platform — ensuring clarity, usability, and an intuitive experience — while also contributing to the
actual implementation of the interface

Role Summary
The UI/UX + Frontend Hybrid will contribute to translating high-level concepts into:
- clear user flows
- structured wireframes
- intuitive interface designs
- implemented frontend components (where applicable)
You will work closely with the team to ensure the product is not only well-designed, but also effectively built and aligned with implementation realities.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and design user journeys and workflows across the platform
- Create wireframes, mockups, and interface designs for core features
- Translate designs into responsive frontend components (as needed)
- Structure multi-user experiences (e.g., dashboards, permissions)
- Ensure clarity and simplicity in complex workflows and data presentation
- Design and implement dashboard layouts and UI components
- Collaborate closely with developers to ensure feasibility and consistency
- Iterate designs and frontend based on feedback and evolving requirements
- Contribute to a cohesive and scalable design system

Ideal Candidate Profile
- Ability to significantly assist in saving costs (project on a budget)
- Experience designing web-based platforms or applications
- Working knowledge of modern frontend frameworks (e.g., React or similar)
- Ability to convert designs into functional UI
- Strong understanding of user behaviour and interaction design
- Comfortable working in early-stage or evolving environments
- Strong collaboration skills with technical teams
- Ability to prioritize and simplify without over-designing

- All design, structure, architecture, and code will be original; company owns IP
- NDA and IP assignment required before full project details are shared
- This is NOT a salaried role — project-based with defined deliverables
- High salary expectations will not be considered
- Final candidates will complete a pilot test (tech challenge)
- Candidates may be part of a team-based delivery model
- Scope, deliverables, and compensation finalized with selected candidate(s)
