Overview

The project is the development of a structured web-based platform. We are seeking a (Jr./Sr.)
UI/UX Product Designer
to support the design and user experience of a structured web-based platform.

This is a
project-based contractor engagement
, focused initially on the design and delivery of a
Minimum Viable Product (MVP).
We prefer working with candidates that can help us
extend into a
full product release
.

This role will assist in shaping how users interact with the platform — ensuring clarity, usability, and an intuitive experience across multiple user types and workflows.

Nature of Engagement

  • Contract / project-based (not full-time employment)
  • Deliverable and milestone-driven
  • Collaboration with technical team (will be built as well)
  • Opportunity to contribute to a product from early-stage design through to market readiness

Role Summary

The UI/UX Designer will contribute for translating high-level concepts into:

  • clear user flows
  • structured wireframes
  • intuitive interface designs

You will work closely with the team to ensure that the product is not only functional, but
usable, scalable, and user-centric
.

Key Responsibilities

- Define and design
user journeys and workflows
across the platform
- Create
wireframes, mockups, and interface designs
for core features
- Structure
multi-user experiences
(e.g., different user types, dashboards, permissions)
- Ensure
clarity and simplicity
in complex workflows and data presentation
- Design
dashboard layouts
and structured data visualization approaches
- Collaborate with developers to ensure feasibility and alignment with implementation
- Iterate designs based on feedback and evolving requirements
- Contribute to building a
cohesive and scalable design system

Core Areas of Focus

We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate strength in:

- Designing
structured platforms
(not just static websites)
- Creating intuitive experiences for
multi-user systems
- Simplifying
complex data flows and interactions
- Designing
forms, dashboards, and workflow-driven interfaces
- Balancing
usability with scalability
(designing for growth beyond MVP)
- Thinking through
end-to-end user journeys
, not just screens

Ideal Candidate Profile

- Experience designing
web-based platforms or applications
- Strong understanding of
user behavior and interaction design
- Ability to translate abstract requirements into
clear, structured designs
- Comfortable working in
early-stage or evolving environments
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical teams
- Ability to
prioritize and simplify
without over-designing

What We Value

- Clarity over complexity
- Practical, usable design (not just visual aesthetics)
- Ability to think in
systems and workflows
- Honest assessment of strengths and limitations
- Willingness to collaborate and contribute within a team structure

Selection Process

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to participate in a structured evaluation process, including:

  • Initial screening discussion
  • Collaborative session with other candidates
  • Potential design-focused exercise or walkthrough
  • Final selection based on overall alignment, capability, and contribution

Additional Notes

- All design, structure, architecture, code will be original; the company owns IP.
- NDA and IP assignment agreements required before sharing full project details.
- This is NOT a salary-based role or employment. It will be a temporary contract (project-based) with pre-assigned and mutually agreed-upon deliverables.
- The final shortlisted candidates will be required to do a pilot test (tech challenge) to evaluate their capabilities, before final onboarding.
- Candidates may be considered as part of a
team-based delivery model
- The engagement may involve collaboration with other specialists (e.g., developers, architects)
- Scope, deliverables, and compensation will be finalized with selected candidate(s)

Eligibility

Candidates must be
Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents
.
