Role summary

Procom is seeking a Finance SAP Program Manager for a 24-month contract role in Winnipeg, Manitoba. This onsite position, with a potential for remote work at the client's discretion, focuses on planning, directing, and governing end-to-end SAP programs with an emphasis on Finance (e.g., S/4HANA Finance). The role is accountable for program outcomes across multiple workstreams, ensuring alignment with business strategy, regulatory requirements, and SAP best practices. Responsibilities include managing program scope, benefits, governance, integrated plans, budgets, stakeholder communications, and risk/issue resolution, with a strong focus on financial controls and compliance. Experience in large-scale ERP/SAP Finance programs and public sector environments is required.

Finance SAP Program Manager
for a 24-month contract role.
This position is onsite at our client’s Winnipeg Manitoba office.
At the sole discretion of the client this role may provide an option to work remotely as well.
Job Description:
SAP Program Managers (Finance) plan, direct, and govern end-to-end SAP programs and releases with a focus on Finance (e.g., S/4HANA Finance). The role is accountable for program outcomes across multiple workstreams (Record-to-Report, Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, Budget-to-Report, Treasury, and related integrations), ensuring alignment to business strategy, regulatory requirements, and SAP best practices. Programs may include implementation, upgrade, enhancement, and stabilization activities and will vary in complexity, duration, approach, and technology landscape.
Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for delivery of the overall SAP Finance program scope, benefits, and outcomes across all workstreams and releases.
  • Establish and maintain program governance and ensure adherence to delivery methodology.
  • Develop and manage the integrated program plan and release roadmap.
  • Lead cross-functional integration across Finance, HR, Procurement, and other domains.
  • Coordinate internal SMEs, business owners, and system integrators to ensure deliverables meet acceptance criteria.
  • Oversee key Finance deliverables and ensure timely approvals.
  • Drive timely resolution of issues and risks with attention to Finance controls and compliance.
  • Manage program budget, forecasts, vendor spend, and progress tracking.
  • Manage stakeholder communications and ensure decisions and impacts are clearly communicated.
  • Define and report program performance metrics.
  • Identify and remove barriers to delivery.

Mandatory Skills:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience managing IT projects, including at least three years leading large ERP/SAP programs.
  • Expertise in program and project lifecycles, integrated planning, and estimation for complex enterprise initiatives.
  • Experience leading delivery within a large-scale program requiring integration with multiple projects/workstreams.
  • Hands-on experience delivering SAP programs with a Finance focus, including configuration-led delivery.
  • Experience delivering Finance process transformation and ensuring alignment to financial controls.
  • Experience managing programs/projects in a Public Sector organization or similarly complex environment.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, interpersonal, and listening skills.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • SAP program/project management experience in Finance, including SAP S/4HANA Finance (FI/CO) and related capabilities (e.g., Asset Accounting, Treasury, Grants Management, Funds Management, Budgeting/Planning, and/or SAP Group Reporting where applicable).
  • Strong exposure to SAP Activate methodology, including fit-to-standard, design governance, release management, cutover planning, and hypercare/stabilization.
  • Solid understanding of SAP Finance solution architecture, integration patterns, and data concepts (e.g., master data, chart of accounts, cost objects, and reporting structures).
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with Finance business owners, audit/compliance stakeholders, SAP functional/technical teams, and the system integrator to ensure requirements, controls, and adoption needs are met while maintaining SAP best practices.
