Role summary

ProPetro is seeking an M365 Platform Engineer to administer, secure, and govern their Microsoft 365 environment. This role involves managing tenant configurations, data protection, and compliance with security standards. Responsibilities include managing Copilot licensing, SharePoint permissions, Microsoft Purview DLP policies, sensitivity labels, and Teams governance. The engineer will partner with IT Security to identify and remediate risks, support audits, and troubleshoot M365 issues. A Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of experience in M365 administration, cloud infrastructure, or IT security are preferred, along with hands-on experience in key M365 services and a strong understanding of identity and access management principles.

Job Description
The M365 Platform Engineer supports the administration, security, and governance of ProPetro’s Microsoft 365 environment. This role is responsible for managing tenant-level configurations, enforcing data protection controls, and ensuring compliance with organizational security standards. The position partners closely with IT Security and business stakeholders to maintain secure access, support collaboration tools, and optimize the use of Microsoft cloud technologies.
Responsibilities

  • Administer and support the Microsoft 365 tenant environment, including configuration, monitoring, and optimization
  • Manage Copilot licensing, including assignment, usage tracking, and governance controls
  • Perform SharePoint permissions remediation, ensuring appropriate access controls and least-privilege access
  • Implement and maintain Microsoft Purview Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies to protect sensitive information
  • Deploy and manage sensitivity labels across Microsoft 365 to support data classification and protection
  • Support governance and administration of Microsoft Teams, including policies, access, and lifecycle management
  • Monitor and enforce security and compliance policies across M365 services to align with organizational standards
  • Partner with IT Security to identify and remediate risks related to access, data exposure, and misconfigurations
  • Support audits, compliance reviews, and documentation related to governance and security controls
  • Troubleshoot M365-related access, permissions, and governance issues
  • Maintain documentation of configurations, policies, and governance standards
  • Stay current on Microsoft 365 features, security updates, and best practices to enhance environment performance and security
  • Maintain compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies by attending all required HSE training sessions, safety meetings, and always utilize proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred
  • 3–5 years of experience in Microsoft 365 administration, cloud infrastructure, or IT security/support roles
  • Experience administering Microsoft 365 tenant environments (Entra ID, SharePoint, Teams, Exchange Online)
  • Hands-on experience with: Microsoft Purview (DLP policies, compliance tools), Sensitivity labels and data classification, SharePoint permissions and access management, Teams governance and policy management
  • Experience managing licensing (preferably Copilot or advanced Microsoft licensing structures)
  • Strong understanding of identity and access management, security principles, and governance frameworks
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure / Entra ID and cloud-based identity management
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to document technical configurations and communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 applications and administration tools
  • Highly organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities
