About the role

Proxet is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our team building mission-critical, data-driven, defense analytics applications. This is a hands-on role requiring strong full-stack technical depth, builder mindset, leadership experience, excellent communication skills, and comfort working cross-functionally with stakeholders and client engineering teams.

Our client is a U.S.-based software company specializing in defense analytics. Its flagship platform leverages artificial intelligence and integrated data to modernize and accelerate the defense acquisition process. The company serves as a strategic technology partner to the U.S. government in support of national security initiatives.

Location‍

Hybrid - Boston, US.

Requires US citizenship and hybrid work from the Newton office 3 days per week, with occasional travel to Pittsburgh.

Who are we looking for?

Skills & Experience

• Must be a US citizen and reside in the US
• B.S./M.S. in Computer Science or a related technical field
• 8+ years of software engineering experience (3+ years in a senior role) with a proven track record of architecting and shipping complex, production-grade applications
• Expert at using AI tools (e.g., Claude Code) to accelerate development without compromising architectural integrity
• Deep expertise in Java 17+, Quarkus/Spring Boot
• Mastery of React, TypeScript, and MUI
• Mastery of PostgreSQL and Hibernate
• Strong communication and presentation skills

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain high-throughput, end-to-end solutions by engineering non-blocking, reactive backend services and sophisticated, state-aware frontends
• Leverage modern AI-assisted development tools (e.g. Claude Code) to accelerate delivery velocity while maintaining architectural integrity and system performance
• Drive excellence across the tech stack through lead-by-example coding, comprehensive code reviews, and best practices
• Partner cross-functionally to drive clarity of business requirements and translate into full-stacktechnical solutions
• Champion the client’s long-term success by architecting cohesive full-stack ecosystems, leveraging AI-augmented development patterns that bridge the gap between complex system design and rapid business scale
