Pulse Security AI is a platform built for information security teams. We're a ~20-person company where every person shapes the product, the culture, and the trajectory. We ship fast, learn from real users, and treat AI as a first-class collaborator — not an afterthought.
Our product development process is distinctly AI-native: we prototype ideas as working software using tools like Claude, iterate with design partners, and then produce the documentation and specs that engineering needs to build production features. If you've been waiting for a role where your creativity directly becomes the product, this is it.
The Role
We're hiring a Product Designer — a hybrid of product manager, UX designer, and prototyper — to join our product team. This is not a traditional PM role where you write requirements and hand them off. And it's not a traditional design role where you push pixels in Figma and wait for engineering.
You'll own the full arc from insight to prototype to production. You'll talk to customers and internal security experts, identify opportunities, then build working prototypes — using AI tools like Claude, Cursor, and vibe coding — to test ideas with real users and design partners before anything goes to engineering. When a concept is validated, you'll produce the context that enables our engineering team to Claude Code the production feature.
This role requires uncommon range: the vision to see what a cybersecurity product should become, the creativity to imagine novel interactions, and the technical fluency to bring those ideas to life as functional prototypes in hours, not weeks.
What You'll Do
- Discover & Define:
Work directly with information security teams to deeply understand their workflows, pain points, and unmet needs. Translate those insights into product opportunities.
- Prototype at Speed:
Use AI-assisted development (Claude, Cursor) to go from idea to interactive prototype in a single session. Build functional demos — not wireframes — that customers and partners can react to.
- Validate with Partners:
Iterate prototypes with design partners and early adopters. Run lightweight experiments to de-risk ideas before committing engineering resources.
- Equip Engineering to Build:
Package validated prototypes with the technical context, architectural decisions, and design rationale that engineering and Claude Code need to productionize features — not traditional specs, but the right context to go from working prototype to production-grade software.
- Shape Product Vision:
Contribute to product strategy and roadmap. Identify where AI and emerging technologies create step-change opportunities in cybersecurity.
- Own the Outcome:
You're not handing off and moving on. You'll track adoption, gather feedback, and iterate post-launch. You own results, not just deliverables.
Who You Are
- A builder first.
You default to making things, not talking about making things. When you have an idea, your instinct is to prototype it — today.
- A creative thinker.
You see possibilities others miss. You can reimagine how a security analyst's workflow should work, not just incrementally improve what exists.
- A vision-holder.
You can articulate a compelling product future that rallies a team and excites customers. You think in terms of where the market is going, not just where it is.
- AI-fluent.
You use AI tools daily as creative and technical amplifiers. You're comfortable with prompt engineering, vibe coding, and AI-assisted development. You see AI as a collaborator, not a novelty.
- Customer-obsessed.
You get energy from talking to users. You can synthesize qualitative and quantitative signals into sharp product insights.
- Comfortable with ambiguity.
You thrive in a startup environment where the playbook is being written in real time. You take ownership, make decisions, and move fast.
Qualifications
Required
- 3+ years of experience in product management, product design, UX design, or a hybrid role spanning these disciplines
- Demonstrated ability to build functional prototypes using AI-assisted tools (Claude, Cursor, or similar)
- Strong UX sensibility — you understand interaction design, information architecture, and how to create intuitive experiences for technical users
- Excellent written communication — you can author product plans that engineering teams love to build from
- Experience working directly with customers or users to validate product concepts
- Track record of shipping products from concept through launch in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
- Experience in cybersecurity, information security, or enterprise security products
- Experience with AI/LLM-powered products — understanding model capabilities, limitations, and interaction patterns
- Background in B2B SaaS or enterprise software for technical audiences
- When necessary, proficiency with design tools alongside coding-based prototyping
How We Build Products
Our development process is designed for speed and quality in an AI-native world:
- Discover:
Talk to security experts and users, analyze data, identify opportunities.
2. Prototype:
Build working prototypes using AI tools to rapidly explore and validate ideas.
3. Validate:
Iterate with design partners until the concept is proven and the UX is dialed in.
4. Equip:
Package the prototype with technical context, design rationale, and integration guidance — everything engineering and Claude Code need to build production software.
5. Ship:
Engineering builds the production feature using AI-assisted coding with the prototype and context package as their north star.
This process means you see your ideas come to life faster than anywhere else — and you're accountable for outcomes, not just outputs.

How to Apply
Send us your resume and a brief note about a product you've prototyped using AI tools — what you built, how you built it, and what you learned. Bonus points if you can share the prototype itself.
We value demonstrated ability over credentials. Show us how you think and build.
