Role summary

A mission-driven, high-growth organization seeks a Senior Data Engineer to shape and evolve its modern data platform. This role involves designing and implementing scalable data architectures, developing robust ETL/ELT pipelines, and optimizing data storage and processing systems. The engineer will work with large datasets, build data models for analytics and operations, and contribute to data strategy. Key responsibilities include enhancing data accessibility, supporting machine learning model deployment, and ensuring operational excellence through best practices and modern tooling. The ideal candidate has 4-6 years of experience, strong Python and SQL skills, and hands-on experience with cloud platforms like AWS and modern data stacks.

Senior Data Engineer

Data Platform & Architecture

  • Design and implement robust, scalable data architectures supporting both batch and real-time processing
  • Develop and maintain data models that power analytics, reporting, and operational use cases
  • Contribute to and execute a long-term data engineering strategy aligned with business priorities
  • Enhance core datasets and build systems that improve data discovery, accessibility, and usability

Data Pipelines & Infrastructure

  • Build and manage reliable ETL/ELT pipelines across a variety of data sources
  • Work with large-scale datasets to support analytics and business intelligence
  • Optimize data storage and processing systems for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency

Operational Excellence

  • Identify opportunities to improve data workflows and reduce inefficiencies
  • Implement best practices and modern tooling to enhance reliability and maintainability
  • Support continuous improvement of the data ecosystem and engineering standards

Machine Learning Enablement

  • Develop and maintain pipelines that support deployment and monitoring of machine learning models in production environments

What We’re Looking For

  • 4–6 years of experience in data engineering or similar roles
  • Strong programming skills in Python and advanced proficiency in SQL
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS) and modern data stacks
  • Proven track record designing and optimizing data warehouses and dimensional models
  • Experience building and orchestrating pipelines using tools such as Airflow, dbt, or similar
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., AWS CDK or equivalent)
  • Experience working with BI/analytics tools (Power BI)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
