
Procurement Manager
Role summary
The Procurement Manager will lead a team of procurement professionals in the T&D industry, focusing on strategic sourcing for large infrastructure projects. This role involves managing the bid process, negotiating contracts, building global vendor relationships, and tracking material costs against forecasts. The manager will also support budgeting, forecasting, and use purchasing analytics to drive cost savings and improve procurement strategy. Key responsibilities include team leadership, supplier prequalification, and expediting material deliveries, requiring a strong understanding of construction contract administration and business law.

The Procurement Manager plays a hands-on role in supporting the successful delivery of large infrastructure projects through the strategic sourcing of materials and strong supplier relationships.
This position leads and develops a team of procurement professionals while ensuring an ethical, competitive bid process and consistent execution across projects.
In addition to managing day-to-day procurement, this role supports budgeting, forecasting, and month-end projections, and uses data and purchasing analytics to drive cost savings, improve performance, and strengthen overall procurement strategy.
What You'll Do
- Manages and oversees Procurement and Expeditor team members
- Supports business development and estimating groups by creating innovative material supply strategies needed to win large infrastructure projects
- Leads material bid process by soliciting pricing from global supply list
- Negotiates contracts with successful material supply bids
- Tracks commodity markets to properly identify material risks
- Establishes and maintains strategic vendor relationships from around the globe
- Tracks project success by tracking forecast, budgeted and actual material pricing
- Expedites material deliveries by tracking status of material manufacturing, shipment and receipt
- Adheres to internal standards, policies, and procedures
- Performs special projects and completes other job-related duties as assigned
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, Engineering, or other related field
- Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience working in the T&D industry, with previous knowledge of construction contract administration, EPC procurement, and business law
- Proven experience directly leading and developing a procurement team
- Previous experience with supplier and subcontractor prequalification
- RFPs, bid evaluations and recommendations, contract negotiation and issuance, vendor submittal management, and expediting oversight for EPC T&D projects
- Prior experience working with engineering teams and contractors to specify material and review bills of material
- Strong vendor and subcontractor industry relationships
- Self-starter who can work independently while supporting the needs of the team
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Ability to communicate effectively to executive level management
- Customer service and effective time management skills
