Role summary
The Product Owner/Manager will be responsible for overseeing IT projects within the Cannabis Regulatory Industry, focusing on Agile/Scrum methodologies. This role requires 5-8 years of experience in product ownership, product management, or business analysis, with a strong emphasis on managing product backlogs, user stories, and sprint planning. The candidate will gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements, utilizing tools like Azure DevOps. Knowledge of licensing, inventory tracking, and regulatory compliance within the cannabis sector is essential. Experience with enterprise applications like Salesforce and familiarity with DevOps/testing tools are preferred.

Location: Onsite - Montpelier, VT
Duration: 1 Year plus
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5–8 years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or Business Analyst in IT projects
- Demonstrated experience as a Product Owner or Business Analyst on an Agile/Scrum team
- Hands-on experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies and practices
- Experience in managing product backlogs, user stories, backlog refinement, and sprint planning
- Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Experience in gathering, analyzing, refining, and documenting evolving business and functional requirements
- Experience working with Agile project management tools such as Azure DevOps or similar
- Exposure to enterprise applications such as Salesforce or similar platforms
- Knowledge of business practices involved in licensing, inventory tracking and handling, regulation, and enforcement
- Experience in the Cannabis Control / Cannabis Regulatory Industry
Preferred skills
- Experience working on government or public sector projects
- Experience supporting system stabilization and backlog completion initiatives
- Familiarity with tools such as Copado, Testim, or similar DevOps/testing tools
- Experience working in environments with API integrations and data exchange systems
Certifications:
- Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) – Preferred
- Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO) – Preferred
- Agile/Scrum certifications (any recognized body) – Preferred
