Role summary

We are seeking an experienced SDET to join our 100% onsite team in Scottsdale, AZ. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining automation frameworks for web, API, and backend testing. You will write automated test scripts using Java and Groovy, perform API testing with RESTful services, and validate data using SQL queries. Collaboration with development and QA teams is key, as is integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitLab and Jenkins. The ideal candidate will have strong programming skills in Java, experience with automation frameworks, proficiency in REST API testing, solid SQL understanding, and knowledge of CI/CD tools and software testing principles within an Agile/Scrum environment.

Role & responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks for web, API, and backend testing.
  • Write and execute automated test scripts using Java and Groovy.
  • Perform API testing using RESTful services and validate responses.
  • Develop and maintain SQL queries for data validation and backend testing.
  • Collaborate with developers and QA teams to identify test requirements and ensure coverage.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitLab and Jenkins.
  • Analyze test results, report defects, and ensure timely resolution.
  • Stay updated with emerging tools, technologies, and best practices in test automation.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong programming skills in Java and Groovy.
  • Hands-on experience with automation frameworks (e.g., SPOCK, Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, or similar).
  • Proficiency in REST API testing and tools like Postman or RestAssured.
  • Solid understanding of SQL for database validation.
  • Strong knowledge of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab, Jenkins, Git, Maven.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication skills
