Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
Role summary
Seeking a CTO with deep expertise in Travel Technology and a proven track record of migrating high-transaction platforms from legacy systems (like Magento) to modern, API-first, headless architectures. This role requires 12+ years of technical leadership, specifically within the Travel, Hospitality, or Luxury Concierge sectors. Responsibilities include architecting a new platform, leading development with hands-on coding, solving complex inventory and payment challenges, and designing secure cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP) using languages like Go, Python, or Node.js. The position offers 100% remote flexibility globally and significant equity.
The Mandate: Architecting a Global Travel Powerhouse
Our client is an established leader in the ultra-luxury travel and concierge space, catering to a global network of UHNWI members. We are seeking a
Technical Founder-Figure
who possesses deep, intuitive knowledge of the travel and hospitality ecosystem. This is a "Blank Canvas" opportunity for a leader who has spent their career navigating the unique technical challenges of travel inventory, booking logistics, and high-end marketplace engines.
The Strategic Challenge: Legacy-to-Future Migration
The platform currently operates on a legacy
Magento
framework. Your primary mission is to architect and execute a total transition away from this monolithic structure toward a modern, headless, and API-first architecture. This is not a role for a generalist; it requires a specialist who has previously solved the specific "tech debt" issues found in high-scale travel distribution systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Next-Gen Architecture:
Lead the wide-scale release of a proprietary platform capable of handling complex travel logic, GDS/OTA integrations, and elite lifestyle APIs.
- 80% Builder Execution:
You will act as the lead architect and builder, writing core code and establishing the "Golden Path" before scaling an elite global team.
- Inventory Mastery:
Solve the technical challenges of real-time travel inventory, dynamic pricing, and secure payment gateways for high-value transactions.
- Fortress-Level Security:
Design a cloud infrastructure specifically tailored to protect the sensitive data and digital privacy of the global elite.
The Specific Profile We Seek
- Industry Pedigree:
You must have a minimum of 12 years of technical mastery, with significant leadership experience specifically within
Travel Technology (OTA), Hospitality SaaS, or Luxury Concierge platforms.
- Domain Expertise:
You possess a deep understanding of the "plumbing" of the travel world—GDS (Amadeus/Sabre), PMS integrations, API-based inventory management, and the unique UX/UI expectations of ultra-high-net-worth individuals.
- Migration Track Record:
Proven success in moving high-transaction commerce platforms from legacy monoliths (Magento/Shopify Plus) to modern, decoupled microservices.
- Technical Stack:
Expert proficiency in modern back-end languages (Go, Python, or Node.js) and cloud-native infrastructure (AWS/GCP).
Package & Benefits
- Competitive Executive Base Salary + Performance Bonus.
- Significant
Equity / ESOP
participation.
- 100% Remote flexibility, globally.
- The opportunity to build the infrastructure for a global $1T luxury brand from scratch.
Note for Applicants:
We are focusing our selection on candidates with a documented history of technical leadership within the
Travel & Hospitality
sector. All inquiries will be handled with the highest level of executive confidentiality.
