Role summary

The SkillBridge - IT Security Engineer role supports a U.S. government contractor focused on secure software solutions. This position provides Tier 1 and Tier 2 IT support, manages technical and security operations, and contributes to compliance initiatives. Responsibilities include technical support, device provisioning, asset management, user onboarding/offboarding, SaaS tool support, Third Party Risk Management assistance, and security control implementation. The role requires experience in IT help desk or system administration, familiarity with common IT tools, and macOS, Windows, or Linux administration. U.S. citizenship and CUI access eligibility are mandatory. This is a remote position.

  • About the Opportunity:

The SkillBridge - IT Security Engineer supports the organization’s technical and security operations by providing Tier 1 and Tier 2 IT support and contributing to security and compliance initiatives. This role balances supporting engineers’ technical needs with maintaining a strong company-wide IT security posture. The position is critical for managing technical issues, provisioning equipment, administering security controls, and assisting in incident response, thereby enabling secure and efficient technology use across the organization.

  • Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary contact for Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support, triaging and resolving or escalating issues

• Provision laptops and manage Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions

• Manage inventory of physical and digital IT assets

• Onboard and offboard users by managing access through Google Admin Console and related tools

• Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to support SaaS tool rollout, troubleshooting, and updates

• Assist with Third Party Risk Management reviews, including security research and audit report analysis

• Support implementation of security controls aligned with NIST SP 800-171, including logging, SIEM, and incident response

• Assist with triage of security events, log audits, and incident response processes

Travel Expectations: 5 to 10 percent

  • Requirements:

• Experience in IT help desk, system administration, or IT operations

• Familiarity with Google Workspace, Slack, and GitHub

• Experience with macOS, Windows, or Linux administration

• Experience with Google Admin Console or similar directory/identity management tools

• U.S. citizenship required; eligibility for Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) access mandatory

• Ability to collaborate effectively in a remote, asynchronous environment

• Proactive issue identification and resolution follow-through

Preferred:

• Experience with defense contracting or government IT environments

• Knowledge of NIST SP 800-171, NIST SP 800-53, or CMMC 2.0 compliance frameworks

• Experience with security tools such as SIEM platforms or MDM solutions

• The pay range and compensation package for this role will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, skills, and other relevant factors.
