About the Role

The Senior Data/ML Engineer will design, build, and scale core data and machine learning systems that drive the organization's business and product experiences. This role is critical for advancing data platform capabilities and developing customer-facing data products. The position involves collaborating with product, engineering, and cross-functional teams to solve complex data challenges and deliver high-quality, reliable data solutions tailored to customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Extend, optimize, and maintain core data models supporting reports, machine learning, and generative AI workloads
  • Automate and operationalize ML model workflows to improve efficiency and reduce manual processes
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and analytics teams to deliver integrated customer-facing data products
  • Implement frameworks for data quality, observability, and governance to ensure reliable data at scale
  • Document data flows, integration contracts, and operational runbooks to facilitate scaling and handoff

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering with hands-on exposure to machine learning, MLOps, or backend workflow automation
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python, with experience using ML frameworks
  • Expertise in modern data stack tools such as dbt, Snowflake, and Looker/Omni; experience with Kafka or Flink is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of semantic layer design, dimensional modeling, and data architecture best practices
  • Familiarity with data governance, data quality, observability, and analytics/security best practices
  • Experience building products using LLMs, embeddings, and ML technologies, including work with Snowflake Cortex for generative AI, recommendations, or forecasting
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills for working across global, cross-functional teams

Compensation

NYC, SF Bay Area, and Seattle: $164,000 — $205,000 USD annually All other U.S. locations: $151,000 — $194,200 USD annually

This role may be eligible for a variable compensation program. Final compensation will vary based on experience, location, and leveling.
