- About the Opportunity:
The Senior Data Scientist - Computer Vision & ML, Cross-Domain AI will design, develop, and deploy advanced computer vision and video machine learning systems that support automated inspection, physical-world understanding, and vision-guided robotics. This role is critical in delivering scalable and reliable visual intelligence solutions across complex environments, contributing to the organization''s ability to implement real-world AI applications in its network and operations.
- Responsibilities:
• Design, train, and deploy computer vision and video ML models for visual inspection, diagnostics, and physical-world analysis
• Develop video understanding and temporal ML pipelines for physical procedure learning and vision-guided automation
• Build perception models for object recognition, spatial context understanding, and task tracking in automated and robotic systems
• Create object detection, semantic segmentation, classification, and anomaly detection models for images and video streams
• Implement data cleaning and preparation workflows addressing noise, lighting variation, calibration drift, temporal alignment, and class imbalance
• Design state-space and feature representations for vision-guided reinforcement learning and adaptive control
• Develop recursive and online training pipelines using production feedback and new data
• Apply physics-informed ML constraints correlating visual patterns with physical processes
• Implement MLOps best practices including experiment tracking, model versioning, validation pipelines, model registry, and monitoring
• Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize model inference on edge devices, embedded systems, and cloud infrastructure
• Manage large-scale image and video annotation pipelines with domain experts
• Communicate model performance and system impact through executive-level analytics and visualizations
- Requirements:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Machine Learning, Statistics, or related field; equivalent experience considered
• Minimum 6 years in data science or machine learning
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience with computer vision and/or video ML in production deployments
• Preferred: experience in visual inspection, industrial quality systems, robotic perception, autonomous systems, video-based imitation learning, or regulated/safety-critical environments
• Preferred: PhD or advanced research in computer vision, video ML, robotics, or related fields
• Preferred: experience with generative models for synthetic data or anomaly detection
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, including executive presentations
• Attention to detail ensuring model accuracy and reliability
• Problem-solving and analytical skills with an ownership mindset
• Experience with Python ML and CV frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, OpenCV), deep learning architectures, MLOps tools (MLflow, Weights & Biases), data annotation, SQL, and deployment technologies
