Role summary

The Senior Software Engineer, Infrastructure will architect and operate the core systems powering the company's MedTech software and data platform. This role focuses on enhancing reliability, security, and scalability of compute, networking, and CI/CD pipelines, while improving the developer experience. Responsibilities include Kubernetes orchestration, Infrastructure as Code, observability, CI/CD optimization, resource management, and incident response. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience in Infrastructure, DevOps, or Platform Engineering, with deep expertise in cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes at scale, automation tools, and security principles. This is a 100% remote position.

About the Opportunity

The Senior Software Engineer, Infrastructure is a strategic role responsible for architecting and operating the foundational systems that power the company’s entire software ecosystem. You will have a direct impact on the reliability, security, and scalability of core services including compute, networking, and CI/CD pipelines. This position is designed for an engineer who thrives on enhancing the developer experience, ensuring that internal teams can deliver high-value software quickly and safely within a complex MedTech environment.

Responsibilities

  • Platform Orchestration: Manage and scale core platform services, including Kubernetes orchestration, service mesh, ingress controllers, and enterprise secrets management.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management to ensure reproducible and resilient environments.
  • Reliability & Observability: Enhance system uptime through advanced observability (metrics, logs, traces) and implement automated remediation strategies to resolve issues proactively.
  • Developer Tooling: Build internal tools, templates, and self-service portals to streamline developer workflows and reduce friction in the SDLC.
  • CI/CD Optimization: Improve and secure deployment pipelines across development, staging, and production environments.
  • Resource Management: Optimize cloud resource utilization to balance high performance and reliability with cost efficiency.
  • Incident Response: Participate in an on-call rotation and lead post-mortem processes to identify root causes and prevent future downtime.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product, Data, and Security teams to ensure infrastructure aligns with broader business and compliance goals.

Requirements

  • Experience: 5+ years of software engineering experience with a dedicated focus on Infrastructure, DevOps, or Platform Engineering.
  • Cloud Mastery: Deep expertise in cloud infrastructure, with specific, hands-on experience managing Kubernetes at scale.
  • Automation Skills: Proven proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code tools and at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Go, or similar).
  • Security Foundation: Solid understanding of security principles, including IAM, workload identity, network policies, encryption, and secrets management.
  • Observability: Familiarity with modern observability stacks for monitoring, alerting, and distributed tracing.
  • Communication: Strong team-oriented approach with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
  • Eligibility: Must be eligible to work in the USA or Canada.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation

  • Base Salary Range: $185,000 – $230,000.
  • *Note: Final compensation is determined by location, role scope, and candidate experience.*
