2. About the Opportunity:
The Sr Staff Software Engineer, Developer Productivity will lead efforts to advance the organization’s engineering tools, systems, and software development lifecycle (SDLC). This role focuses on improving the development experience, reducing bottlenecks, and enhancing quality, security, and reliability across the SDLC. The position plays a key role in integrating innovative technologies like AI into development processes while influencing engineering-wide governance and operational improvements. Remote work is supported, and the role contributes significantly to the engineering team’s productivity and success.
3. Responsibilities:
• Define the future direction of engineering tools, systems, and practices.
• Drive evolution of SDLC metrics, capabilities, and processes based on industry best practices.
• Analyze engineering culture and tools to identify strengths and areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with engineers to improve development experience and remove workflow obstacles.
• Develop strategies for AI integration in the SDLC to maximize business value and engineer benefit.
• Identify risks, inefficiencies, and bottlenecks across the SDLC.
• Advocate for improvements in governance, security, and software quality.
• Participate in on-call rotations.
4. Requirements:
• Extensive experience in enterprise-scale engineering environments.
• Minimum 5 years in Devtools, DevOps, or engineering productivity roles.
• Proven experience as a tech lead providing technical direction to teams or domains.
• Strong understanding of engineering best practices in the tech industry.
• Ability to work autonomously within a distributed team.
• Commitment to software quality and craft.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, Node.js, or TypeScript development in Linux or Mac environments.
• Experience with source control management, software composition analysis, CI/CD pipelines, and build tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with agentic AI in software development.
• Knowledge of cloud design patterns for scale, data management, resiliency, and performance.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, containerization, and orchestration technologies.
• Understanding of cloud infrastructure and application security.
5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:
• Salary range: $220,000 to $290,000, dependent on geographic location and candidate experience.
