About the Opportunity

The Senior Software Engineer - AI/ML is a high-level technical leadership role within the AI/ML platform team. You will be responsible for the architecture and scaling of mission-critical services, including model inference, fine-tuning, and evaluation pipelines. This role is designed for an engineer who excels in high-growth environments, capable of balancing long-term architectural elegance with the short-term needs of a fast-moving product. Your work will directly define the user experience for developers and researchers interacting with state-of-the-art AI.

Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership: Lead technical domains within the AI/ML platform, providing mentorship and driving large, cross-functional projects to completion.
  • Model Service Scaling: Develop and scale sophisticated services for model inference, fine-tuning, benchmarks, and evaluations.
  • API & SDK Development: Maintain and evolve the organization’s APIs and SDKs, primarily utilizing Python and Go to ensure seamless integration for end users.
  • Architectural Design: Collaborate with peer engineers to design elegant, scalable architectures that support multimodal and generative AI models.
  • End-to-End Ownership: Ship product features independently, managing the full lifecycle from initial planning and architecture through launch and ongoing maintenance.
  • UX for Developers: Apply a strong design sensibility to ensure that technical products are intuitive, user-friendly, and operationally excellent.
  • Strategic Trade-offs: Make informed decisions regarding engineering and product trade-offs to support rapid scaling without compromising system integrity.

Requirements

  • Experience: At least 4 years of relevant industry experience building production-grade systems in high-growth, fast-paced tech environments.
  • Technical Leadership: Proven track record of providing technical leadership and guiding teams through complex project completions.
  • AI/ML Expertise: Strong working knowledge of ML platforms and modern AI techniques, including LLMs, multimodal models, and generative AI.
  • Programming Mastery: Proficiency in Python and Go, along with a deep understanding of API standards (REST).
  • Product Sensibility: Demonstrated design and UX sensibility, specifically tailored to technical audiences and developer tools.
  • Mindset: A customer-focused approach with the ability to navigate the ambiguity of an evolving AI landscape.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation

  • Salary Range: $154,400.00 – $193,000.00.
  • Equity: Competitive equity compensation, including initial grants and an Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP).
  • Bonuses: Potential for performance-based bonuses tied to company and individual success.
