Role summary

The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer Principal will lead the design and implementation of secure, scalable, and high-performing cloud infrastructure solutions, primarily on Azure or AWS. This role focuses on automating cloud resource provisioning using infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform and Ansible, and collaborating with IT and Product teams to ensure cloud-native solutions meet recovery and operational targets. Responsibilities include managing cloud services, resolving production issues within ITSM frameworks, and owning the end-to-end target state of cloud applications. The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure and deployment, with at least 2 years in automation tools.

  • About the Opportunity:

The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer Principal will lead the design and implementation of secure, scalable, and high-performing cloud infrastructure solutions. This role focuses on automating cloud resource provisioning through infrastructure as code and collaborating with IT and Product teams to ensure cloud-native solutions meet recovery and operational targets. The position holds end-to-end responsibility for cloud application infrastructure and plays a key role in maintaining reliable production environments.

  • Responsibilities:

• Serve as a subject matter expert in cloud infrastructure and automation using Terraform

• Lead design and implementation of mission-critical cloud infrastructure with tools like Terraform, Ansible, and Kubernetes

• Collaborate with IT and Product teams to deliver cloud-first/cloud-native solutions meeting RTO/RPO goals

• Own the end-to-end target state of cloud applications

• Manage and maintain cloud services including Azure web app, storage, monitoring, backup, key vault, and SQL managed instance

• Assist in resolving production issues within ITSM frameworks, adhering to SLA and OLA standards

  • Requirements:

• 7+ years of experience with Azure or AWS

• 7+ years in infrastructure design and deployment using PaaS and IaaS cloud services

• 2+ years using configuration management and automation tools such as Chef, Puppet, Ansible, AWS CloudFormation, PowerShell, or Terraform

• Experience with open technologies and DevOps tools including Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, GitHub, DSC, and Terraform

• Familiarity with Agile environments and Azure DevOps tools

• Proven record resolving production issues under ITSM governance and service agreements

• Certifications in Azure, AWS, or GCP are preferred
