2. About the Opportunity
: The
Sr. Site Reliability Engineer
plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of the organization’s systems, applications, and infrastructure. This position bridges development and operations by applying software engineering to solve operational challenges. The role focuses on automating processes, enhancing system reliability, and enabling seamless service delivery. It offers the flexibility of remote work within the U.S. and requires managing complex technical challenges that directly affect service quality.

3. Responsibilities
:

  • Build, maintain, and operate the AWS-hosted platform
  • Collaborate with development teams to define and measure service level objectives and indicators
  • Contribute to platform service development including architecture, provisioning, configuration, deployment, and support
  • Integrate with centralized logging, metrics dashboards, instrumentation, and incident management systems
  • Participate in on-call rotations for incident resolution related to platform components
  • Implement automation, self-healing, and real-time monitoring to address production issues
  • Maintain operational tools and frameworks
  • Perform root cause analysis and resolve failures in tools and automation
  • Develop and administer systems and tools that enable engineering teams to monitor applications independently
  • Automate alerts for performance, cost, vulnerabilities, risk, and compliance metrics
  • Conduct postmortems following production incidents

4. Requirements
:

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience
  • 3+ years scripting experience in Python or Powershell
  • 3+ years Linux system administration and shell scripting experience
  • 3+ years networking fundamentals including VPN setup, routing, security groups, and cross-cloud connectivity
  • 2+ years experience with AWS services such as EC2, VPC, IAM, Lambda, S3, CloudWatch
  • 2+ years experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or CDK
  • United States Citizenship
  • Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance at Confidential/Secret or Top Secret level

Preferred
:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
  • 1+ years experience with CI/CD pipelines using Git and GitLab
  • 1+ years experience with monitoring and alerting tools such as CloudWatch and Dynatrace
  • 1+ years experience with containerized workloads (ECS, EKS)
  • Experience with security and compliance frameworks including FedRAMP Moderate and NIST 800-171
  • Experience using AI-driven anomaly detection and automation for proactive issue resolution and scaling

5. Pay Range and Compensation Package
:

  • Salary range: $91,700 to $163,700 annually based on full-time employment
  • Pay is influenced by factors such as local labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications
  • Comprehensive benefits package including incentive programs, equity stock purchase, and 401k contributions (subject to eligibility)
