• About the Opportunity:

The Senior AI Software Engineer role focuses on advancing both cloud networking and AI product development as these areas converge. The position involves contributing to open-source projects that support AI orchestration and workflow proxies within Kubernetes environments, integrating with innovative service mesh technology to enhance scalability and resource efficiency. This role provides opportunities to engage directly with customers, influence open-source communities, and shape the future of AI infrastructure through collaboration and innovation. It is a remote position for candidates based in the US, with no visa sponsorship available.

• Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality solutions to complex technical challenges faced by customers

• Manage and optimize APIs within dynamic cloud-native environments to ensure seamless user experiences

• Convert ambiguous requirements into clear, high-impact tasks prioritizing user value

• Propose innovative solutions to advance product development

• Establish and maintain best practices for codebase health and maintainability

• Mentor team members and provide constructive feedback during code and design reviews

• Participate in hiring to identify and recruit skilled engineers for team growth

• Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a software engineer

• At least 2 years working with Containers, Kubernetes, and Golang

• Proven experience building server-side software in production, with understanding of related challenges and tradeoffs

Bonus Experience:

• Experience with Istio or other service mesh platforms

• Direct work on proxies, such as Envoy Proxy

• Development of Kubernetes controllers and operators

• Familiarity with Agentic frameworks and protocols like ADK, MCP, A2A

• Experience with GlooShot

• Use or implementation of Kubernetes Gateway API

• Pay Range and Compensation Package:
