Role summary

Renesas is seeking a hands-on Power Electronics Test Engineer Intern for Summer 2026. This onsite role involves supporting the testing and characterization of SiC/GaN power semiconductor devices. We are looking for a hands-on Power Electronics Test Engineer Intern to support testing and characterization of power semiconductor devices (SiC/GaN). This role combines lab work, data analysis, and basic test automation, offering practical experience in power electronics and semiconductor testing.

Responsibilities:

· Follow lab safety procedures when working with high-voltage devices

· Perform and document electrical testing of power devices

· Set up, operate, and debug lab equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, signal generators)

· Assemble and maintain test fixtures

· Collect and analyze test data for engineering reports

· Support basic test automation using Python or similar tools

Qualifications

· Basic electronics knowledge (circuits, components, and testing procedures).

· Familiarity with test equipment (oscilloscopes, function generators, power meters).

· Hands-on experience with soldering and basic lab tools .

· Programming experience in Python, C++, Java, or similar

· Ability to read schematics and follow structured test procedures

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

· Effective communication and teamwork skills

· Ability to read schematics and follow test procedures.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) for data analysis and documentation.

Education:

· Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field
