Education Program Manager & Lead Instructor
Role summary
The Education Program Manager & Lead Instructor is responsible for creating, implementing, and overseeing all performing arts educational programming for The Ritz Theatre, Inc. This role involves curriculum design and delivery, adapting programs for various audiences, and serving as the lead instructor. Additionally, the position requires onboarding, training, and supervising part-time instructors and volunteers, ensuring high instructional standards. The manager will coordinate program operations, manage logistics, track participation and outcomes, and align programs with grant requirements. This role also involves community outreach, building strategic partnerships, and recommending program improvements based on feedback. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required for regional travel.
Position Purpose
The Education Program Manager & Lead Instructor is responsible for the creation, implementation, and oversight of all performing arts educational programming for The Ritz Theatre, Inc. Programs will take place across the Corpus Christi region until the reopening of The Ritz Theatre. Upon reopening, this role will manage both on-site and off-site education programs.
Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Development & Instruction
Design and maintain curriculums for The Ritz’s educational programs.
Ensure curriculum is age-appropriate, engaging, and aligned with mission and learning objectives including alignment with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) where appropriate.
Adapt programs for schools, community partners, and targeted groups.
Develop lesson plans, instructor guides, and classroom materials for all programs
Serve as the lead instructor for programs and workshops, delivering high-quality experiential learning experiences.
Staff & Volunteer Leadership
Onboard, train, and supervise part-time instructors and volunteers and provide ongoing oversight and training.
Model instructional best practices for part-time instructors and volunteers.
Establish teaching standards and instructional expectations and maintain standards across all programs.
Program Operations & Grant Alignment
Coordinate booking, staffing, and logistics for off-site programming, including materials and setup.
Track program participation and outcomes.
Work with Ritz Development staff to ensure programs meet grant deliverables and reporting requirements, including providing necessary documentation.
Represent The Ritz at outreach events within the community to promote The Ritz’s mission, upcoming programs, performances, and community events.
Program Growth & Evaluation
Collect feedback from participants, partners, and staff.
Recommend program improvements and new initiatives
Build strategic partnerships with other arts organizations within the community
Skills
Experience in education, arts education, nonprofit programming, or related field.
Demonstrated experience in curriculum design and instructional delivery.
Experience supervising staff or volunteers.
Strong organizational and communication skills, including experience working effectively with adults and children.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple programs.
Requirements
Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and proof of insurance. Some local regional travel is required.
Reliable transportation is required.
A background check will be conducted upon hire and annually.
Must be available to work some weekend and evening hours, as needed.
