Software Engineer, User Sharing
Role summary
Roblox is seeking a Software Engineer for its User Sharing team to build the core systems for user content capture, sharing, and discovery. This role involves developing user-facing features and backend services to enhance game discovery, engagement, and retention. The engineer will own projects end-to-end, focusing on reliability, performance, and scalability. Responsibilities include writing clean, tested code, participating in code reviews, and collaborating with product, design, and data teams. The position requires 1-3 years of software system development experience and proficiency in languages like C++, TypeScript, React, C#, or Java, with a basic understanding of system design. This is a hybrid role based in San Mateo, CA, with a salary range of $153,120 - $196,750 annually.

As a Software Engineer on the User Sharing team you will help build the foundation for how users capture, share, and discover content across Roblox. This includes bringing moments (experiences) directly to the homepage driving game discovery, user engagement and retention through content sharing.

For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits as described on this page.
Roles that are based in an office are onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional presence on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
