Lead Engineer, GSE and Production Tooling
Role summary
Rocket Lab is seeking a Lead Engineer for their Tooling, Test, and Infrastructure team in Middle River, MD. This role focuses on developing, implementing, and improving tooling, Ground Support Equipment (GSE), and test procedures for the Neutron Launch Vehicle. The Lead Engineer will manage a team responsible for production tooling to scale manufacturing, design GSE for vehicle interface, and coordinate testing. Key responsibilities include managing facility constraints, developing training, contributing to design reviews with expertise in manufacturability and testability, and mentoring junior engineers. A Bachelor's degree in a technical field and 5+ years of engineering design experience, including leadership, are required.

Our Space Systems business designs and builds our extensive line of satellites, payloads, and their components, including spacecraft that have been selected to support NASA missions to the Moon and Mars and components used on the James Webb Space Telescope.
LEAD ENGINEER, GSE AND PRODUCTION TOOLING
We are currently seeking a Lead Engineer for our Tooling, Test, and Infrastructure team based out of Rocket Lab's newest Space Structures Complex production facility in Middle River, MD. The Lead Engineer will be responsible for the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of tooling, GSE, and test for the Neutron Launch Vehicle.

Level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
