Role summary

Rush Medical Center is seeking a Data Analyst for its Preventive Medicine-Res Adm department at Rush University Medical Center. This full-time, onsite role in Chicago, Illinois, involves collecting, analyzing, and reporting on data to support administrative and clinical leadership. Responsibilities include quality control of reporting, interpreting results, providing recommendations, and developing routine and ad-hoc reports to inform strategic decision-making. Pay Range: $32.00 - $46.44 per hour

Summary:
The Data Analyst is responsible for collecting data, quality control of internal and external reporting, and analysis of data. The Data Analyst will collect and analyze data, interpret results, and submit reports and recommendations to the department’s administrative and clinical leadership teams. The position will also support the development of routine and ad-hoc reports to help inform strategic decision-making.

Required Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or a related field required.
  • Two years of health care experience in practice operations or decision support.
  • Understanding of concepts in methodology, data collection, and analyses.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data and communicate issues, findings and recommendations.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments and projects of varying degrees of complexity.
  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.

Preferred Job Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in business, healthcare administration or related field.
  • Work experience in a large academic medical center system or similar environment.

Responsibilities:
1. Organize data from multiple sources into one central report and/or dashboard for administrative and clinical leaders.
2. Conduct complex data analytics to produce key takeaways that can help inform decision-making.
3. Continuously monitor data to ensure that department objectives are being met.
4. Develop and routinely update performance packages that can be used by department leaders.
5. Complete ad-hoc reports for practice leaders to report on the outcome of recent schedule changes.
6. Prepare complex analyses utilizing benchmark data from a number of sources as appropriate.
7. May be requested to validate externally reported data with internal source data.
8. Establishes relationships with various departments across Rush to obtain and validate data.
