Role summary

Sabre Systems is seeking a Software Test Automation Engineer to improve systems for the United States Navy's sophisticated aircraft platforms, including the P-8A Poseidon. Located in Lexington Park, Southern Maryland, this role involves developing automated solutions, preparing and automating API tests, maintaining testing environments, and documenting bugs. The engineer will collaborate with software engineers, suggest improvements to automation infrastructure, and share quality knowledge. A BS degree in a relevant field and 3+ years of software development experience in Java with Maven are required. Familiarity with test automation frameworks like Robot Framework and Selenium, Red Hat, Git, and the Atlassian suite is also necessary. An active DoD Secret Clearance or higher is mandatory.

Responsibilities:

As a Software Test Automation Engineer at Sabre Systems, you will employ your talent towards improving the systems used on the United States Navy’s most sophisticated Aircraft. The challenge to continually improve the mission capabilities of Navy aircraft requires engagement from the most elite software professionals available. The Maritime Surveillance domain requires Software Test Automation Engineers to familiarize themselves with a wide variety of mission systems, software programming languages and environments. Join our Team in support of some of the Navy’s most technologically sophisticated aircraft platforms including the P-8A Poseidon. This position is located at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Southern, Maryland, Lexington Park, MD. The selected candidate will work on based on a daily basis and will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Apply knowledge of computer science concepts and techniques, mathematics, and methods of statistical analysis to develop and apply automated solutions to engineering, scientific, or business data acquisition and management problems
  • Preparation, conduction, and automation of API tests
  • Improve and maintain testing environments for automation.
  • Create documentation and report bugs
  • Communicate and cooperate with software engineers regarding design approaches and modifications
  • Suggest and implement ideas to improve automation infrastructure
  • Sharing quality knowledge with other team members
  • All candidates should be prepared to participate in processes applicable to full software development lifecycle activities including requirements, design, development, integration, and test.

Qualifications:

Requirements:

  • BS degree in a Computer Science, Computer Systems Information Management, Electrical Engineering or Mathematics
  • 3+ years of software experience developing in Java and using Maven
  • Experience with developing test scenarios for use in automated testing frameworks and tools (e.g., Robot Framework, Selenium)
  • Experience creating test data, cases, and scenarios from written requirements
  • Proficient with Red Hat with knowledge of Git version control software
  • Familiarity with Atlassian suite including Jira and Confluence. BitBucket and Bamboo experience is a plus
  • Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance or higher or be eligible to obtain one and maintain a clearance
  • Must be a US Citizen

  • PostgresSQL
  • ActiveMQ
