SaskEnergy is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to join our team. The Data Analyst researches, analyzes and develops reporting to monitor operational benchmarks and recommend strategies to improve operational effectiveness. The Data Analyst will build, maintain and support enterprise reporting to provide users with efficient and functional tools and data to optimize their business.
Position Details

  • Union - This position is permanent full time.

Core Responsibilities
Develop Reports and Conduct Analysis

  • Reporting, analysis and interpretation of performance indicators, internal benchmarks and opportunities for stakeholders.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on the dependencies and interrelationships between data and benchmarks to recommend strategies for improving business unit performance.
  • Provide strategic operating intelligence and business metrics for stakeholders to enable management analysis, decision making and reporting.
  • Liaise with a wide range of stakeholders such as subject matter experts, decision makers and executives to determine needs.
  • Identify improvement opportunities within corporate reporting and analytics processes to achieve greater efficiencies.
  • Develop user manuals and handoff materials to enable all reporting users to understand and get full value from the tools.

Support and Maintenance

  • Provide support and maintenance for the enterprise reporting tools to ensure availability of the system.
  • Provide training and support for newly implemented features and functionality with tools or software.

Data Governance

  • Monitor data quality and work with data owners for continuous improvement of data quality.
  • Support various data governance efforts, including metadata, data dictionaries and data lineage.

Other Duties

  • Provide training and support to users as required.
  • Documentation of processes and solutions.

Qualifications
Education

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • A recognized bachelor’s degree in the STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), Economics or Business.
  • Pre-Qualifying Skills Assessment.

Experience

  • Two (2) years of experience in a reporting or analytics role, using SQL, Power BI, SSIS and experience manipulating, processing, and extracting value from a variety of datasets and working with relational databases.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams and presenting ideas to stakeholders.
