As a Senior Engineer, you aren’t just building another fintech app; you are architecting a new category of financial security that combines complex actuarial math with modern, agentic AI.

Your Role & Impact

• Architectural Blueprinting:

You will own and evolve Savvly’s
Azure-based microservice architecture,

overseeing backend systems and front-end platforms to ensure scalability, reliability and performance. .
- Back-end:

co-lead the design of our Python-based capabilities, ensuring our systems are modular and ready for high-stakes financial operations.
- Agentic Integration & AI Systems (MCP):

A key focus of this role is leading the design and implementation of AI integrated systems that connect our financial data and services to intelligent agents, implementing
Model Context Protocol (MCP)

or equivalent patterns for managing context, tool usage and execution boundaries that allows AI agents to safely query data and trigger workflows (allowing for sophisticated, automated decision-making and real-time longevity analysis).
- Fintech Reliability:

You will design systems that interface with major custodians and banking partners, maintaining $99.99\%$ uptime for critical payout calculations.
- Bay Area Collaboration:

As part of our hybrid team, you’ll spend 2–3 days a week brainstorming on whiteboards and iterating quickly with our founding team.

Technical Requirements

• Core engineering:

Deep experience with
Java

and Python
(Spring Boot)

, for building scalable back end systems and
Next.js
for front ends.
- System Design:

Proven ability to design and operate
microservices architectures

in production environments. Deep experience building robust well structured APIs (REST/ gRPC). Solid experience with
PostgreSQL

and hand on experience with
cloud platforms

(Azure preferred) and distributed systems.
- DevOps, Observability and Reliability: You’ll oversee CI/CD pipelines, maintain and improve monitoring,logging, tracing, production reliability and incident response, support infrastructure evolution
- Security and Compliance: exposure to secure API Design, handling of sensitive PII/financial data and SOC2 or similar frameworks
- AI Tooling (MCP):

Experience with - or a strong desire to master - the
Model Context Protocol

or similar patterns for securely integrating LLMs with real world systems. Ability to design systems that securely expose data and capabilities to LLMs amd AI agents.
- Education & Experience:

A background in Fintech, Insurtech, or high-security SaaS is highly preferred.(or a burning desire to master)
- Team leadership: lead and mentor a small, high performing engineering team, review code and set expectations for code quality, ownership and operational excellence
