Electrical Engineer
Role summary
Scout AI is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design, bring up, and validate electronics for robotic defense platforms. This role involves a mix of rapid prototyping and production design, focusing on manufacturability, performance, and integration. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams (hardware, robotics, AI, software, mechanical) to ensure accurate sensor data and seamless system integration. The ideal candidate will have strong fundamentals in schematic capture, layout, circuit design, and experience with PCBA design tools like Altium Designer and electronic test equipment. Experience with hardware interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART, PCIe, MIPI CSI) is crucial. This is a fast-paced startup environment where you'll contribute to defining processes and shaping the future of defense technology.
The future of defense will be decided by those who field intelligent machines at scale. At Scout AI, we’re developing Fury, the first robotic foundation model for defense, to give U.S. forces overwhelming, adaptable, and autonomous power across every domain. Fury enables human operators to command fleets of robots through natural language, and empowers those machines to sense, decide, and act together as one. This mission will ask everything of us: urgency, precision, and relentless work.
The RoleWe’re looking for an Electrical Engineer who is excited about working on a variety of different projects, designing, bringing up and validating electronics for a range of vehicle platforms. This role will include a mix of rapid prototyping electronics for standing up new platforms and longer term production designs for better manufacturability, better performance, smaller form factor and ease of integration.
You’ll work with experienced engineers across hardware, robotics, and AI to ensure sensor data is accurate, stable, and production-ready. We’re a startup. You’ll be moving fast, context-switching daily, and helping define the culture and process as we go. This is a rare opportunity to come in early and architect the future of defense.
