Role summary

SeeDevice is seeking an experienced System Test Engineer to design, build, and maintain complex test benches and systems for quantum image sensors and related prototypes. This role involves collaborating with hardware, software, and ASIC teams, developing test plans and scripts, and performing root cause analysis for test systems and image sensors. The engineer will also become familiar with image sensor field standards, optics (lasers, LEDs), and safety regulations, providing recommendations for test processes. A strong understanding of imaging system development, testing, characterization, and reliability testing is essential. Experience with C, Python, or MATLAB for test script development is required.

We are looking for an experienced System Test Engineer who will design the full test benches and systems for verification/evaluation of individual photodetectors, image sensors, and other prototypes. This role will play a role as the main owner of building and maintaining complex/modular test environments and systems. Additionally, this role will be expected to become familiar with the standards applicable to the image sensor field and provide recommendations and strategies for further evaluations, test processes and standards.

Responsibilities & Duties

· Work/interact within a project team (hardware, software, ASIC) to design/evaluate/test boards and write system documentation

· Work with vendors, clients, partners and the project teams to accomplish the duties assigned

· Develop & document board, system hardware & software test plan

· Develop test scripts as required in the project to help with testing

  • Debug Root cause and failure analysis of the test systems and the image sensors in visible and NIR spectrum
  • Prioritize work and manage multiple projects

Qualifications:

  • B.S. in electrical, computer, or network engineering
  • M.S. or Ph.D. in electrical engineering with experience in system design is a plus
  • Have a solid understanding of the imaging system development, testing, and characterization
  • Solid familiarity with the application-specific standards of the image sensor field
  • Familiarity with optics such as lasers, laser diodes, and LED
  • Familiarity with OSHA and safety standards in the optics field
  • Strong understanding of reliability testing and characterization
  • Excellent teamwork skills, good written and verbal communication and a self-driven approach to work
  • Preferably 5+ years of designing verification and evaluation systems
  • Experience in writing functional software as required by the evaluation systems in C, python, MATLAB, or a similar software language
