We are seeking a seasoned
Senior SQL/ETL Developer
with over a decade of hands-on expertise to join our data engineering team. This role is designed for a technical powerhouse who specializes in architecting robust ETL frameworks, optimizing SQL Server environments, and ensuring data integrity across complex pipelines. As a senior member of the team, you will be the backbone of our data solutions, bridging the gap between raw data and actionable business intelligence while fostering a culture of technical excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Data Engineering & Architecture
- Architect & Execute:
Design and maintain sophisticated ETL processes using
SSIS
and
Advanced SQL
to handle diverse data streams.
- Pipeline Optimization:
Build high-performance data pipelines and automated validation workflows to ensure "source of truth" quality.
- Schema Design:
Develop and refine data models and database objects within MS SQL Server to support evolving analytics needs.
Database Performance & Management
- Optimization:
Lead SQL tuning efforts and stabilize stored procedures to ensure peak performance for enterprise-level applications.
- Administration:
Monitor MS SQL Server health, implementing strategic data archiving and retention policies to balance accessibility with performance.
Technical Support & Problem Solving
- Expert Troubleshooting:
Act as the Level 2/3 escalation point for complex data discrepancies, pipeline failures, and bottlenecks.
- Proactive Monitoring:
Establish sophisticated alerting systems to identify and resolve issues before they impact the business.
DevOps & Collaboration
- CI/CD Integration:
Leverage
Azure DevOps
to automate deployment processes for SSIS packages and database objects.
- Agile Partnership:
Collaborate with BI developers and stakeholders within an Agile framework to deliver high-impact data solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Experience:
Minimum of
10+ years
of genuine, hands-on experience in SQL Development and ETL Engineering.
- Mastery of Tools:
\* Expert-level
SSIS
(SQL Server Integration Services) and
T-SQL
.
- Deep proficiency in
MS SQL Server
performance tuning and database administration.
- Strong command of
Azure DevOps
, including Repos, CI/CD pipelines, and automated release management.
- Version Control:
Professional experience with Git branching strategies.
- Soft Skills:
Exceptional analytical mindset with the ability to document complex technical procedures clearly for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
