About the Opportunity
Shah Equity is a high-volume trading firm operating across U.S. equity and cryptocurrency markets. We are seeking a technically skilled AI Development Intern to contribute to the development of an internal trading intelligence dashboard used to support portfolio decision-making.
This is an opportunity to work on a production-facing system within a real trading environment, contributing to tools that process live market data, generate signals, and surface insights for trading operations.
Interns will gain exposure to quantitative systems, data pipelines, and real-world financial technology infrastructure.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Contribute to development of an internal dashboard focused on market data and trading insights
- Build modules for sentiment analysis using news, social signals, and market data
- Develop anomaly detection features (price action, volume spikes, correlations)
- Support risk monitoring tools for exposure, volatility, and drawdown tracking
- Aggregate and normalize data from multiple sources into reliable pipelines
- Assist in generating system-driven trade suggestions (rebalance, reduce exposure, risk flags)
- Document system architecture and development processes
- Participate in weekly check-ins with trading and finance teams

Eligibility Requirements
- Must be 18+
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must be a Texas resident
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated in a relevant field
- Experience with Python preferred
- Familiarity with APIs or data workflows is a plus
- Ability to commit ~10 hours/week
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with machine learning, NLP, or data engineering
- Exposure to financial markets or fintech
- Familiarity with visualization tools (Plotly, Streamlit, Dash)

— Nominee Director Structure & Requirements —
This internship operates under a nominee director structure as part of Shah Equity’s internal trading and operational systems. Candidates are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the concept of a nominee director prior to onboarding.
As part of this structure, brokerage accounts are opened under business entities (LLCs) provided by Shah Equity to support the firm’s multi-account infrastructure, used for strategy separation, risk management, and system testing.
This structure may include establishing a business entity and associated financial accounts in the participant’s name as part of the firm’s operational framework.
In this context, a nominee director functions as a registered participant within the firm’s account structure, supporting operational systems without direct control over capital or trading decisions.
