IT Automation Engineer (Hybrid, Bangalore)
Role summary
Smartsheet is seeking an experienced IT Automation Engineer to join their IT Operations team in Bangalore. This hybrid role focuses on identifying and automating repetitive Tier 1 tasks using scripting and workflow tools to improve operational efficiency and key metrics like ticket resolution time. The engineer will develop and deploy Freshservice orchestrations, integrate with core systems (AD, M365, Jamf) via APIs, and write/maintain PowerShell and Python scripts for endpoint management. Responsibilities include tracking automation success, documenting workflows, and process optimization. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of IT/DevOps experience with a strong scripting and systems integration background, familiarity with ITSM processes, and experience with tools like PowerShell, Python, Intune, and Active Directory.

Smartsheet is looking for an experienced IT Automation Engineer to drive automation initiatives, streamline operations, and influence infrastructure decisions. With thousands of employees and complex enterprise systems there is lots of opportunity to make a meaningful impact and reduce manual effort through intelligent automation within Smartsheet. You are curious, have strong scripting and systems integration skills and the ability to communicate technical solutions effectively.
