Role summary

Smartsheet seeks an Enterprise Solutions Engineer to provide technical leadership within the inside sales process, acting as a trusted advisor for successful platform deployment and adoption. This role involves partnering with Account Executives to deliver technical demonstrations, collaborating on creative solutions, and identifying/building Smartsheet solutions for customer problems. The engineer will also support sales teams, prepare technical responses, define best practices, and liaise with Product teams. The ideal candidate has 1-3+ years of experience in SaaS/enterprise software solutions engineering, strong technical leadership, customer-facing skills, and excellent communication abilities, with a focus on solution design and architecture for collaboration/workflow/project management tools.

Smartsheet is looking for an Enterprise Solutions Engineer who will provide technical leadership throughout the inside sales process. You will be a trusted solution and technical advisor during the sales process and provide expertise that ensures successful Smartsheet deployment and adoption.

This high profile role is part of the Enterprise Sales team and will report to the Manager, Enterprise Solutions Engineering.

You Will:

  • Be a recognised Smartsheet expert and develop deep Smartsheet knowledge relevance (workflow definition, solution design)
  • Partner with Account Executives to deliver technical demonstrations of the Smartsheet SaaS platform, Integrations, and Add-Ons
  • Collaborate with existing Solutions Engineers in the design of creative solutions to customer requirements using Smartsheet
  • Identify, build, and demonstrate Smartsheet solutions that solve specific customer problems
  • Develop strong relationships with sales teams to drive successful sales engagements, this could include providing daily product/technical support to cross-functional partners
  • Provide support for preparing technical responses to prospect questions, FAQs, knowledge base and case support entries; help define “best practices” for broad usage across large enterprises
  • Collaborate with Product teams to ensure offerings align with customer needs
  • Support marketing related events periodically, traveling onsite to represent Smartsheet, demonstrate the platform and connect with customers or prospects
  • Perform other duties as assigned

    • You Have:

  • 1-3+ years of experience as a Solutions Engineer in the SaaS and/or enterprise software industry
  • Technical leadership and outstanding customer-facing skills
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal, presentation), with the ability to explain technical subjects to non-technical end user personnel in large enterprises
  • Ability to quickly build credibility, as well as understand and resolve customer technical issues
  • Strong competence participating in a complex, solution-based enterprise sales process
  • Experience in solution design or solution architecture related to collaboration/workflow/project management.
  • Willing to travel periodically based on customer and business need
  • Legally eligible to work in the UK on an ongoing basis
