Manager of Security Engineering
Role summary
We are seeking a Security Engineering Manager to lead the Enterprise Infrastructure Security (EIS) team. This role involves defining and driving the development of enterprise security platforms, translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions, and making pragmatic risk decisions. The manager will ensure high technical quality and operational excellence in systems, align team direction with organizational strategy, and recruit and develop a high-caliber engineering team. Key responsibilities include fostering cross-functional collaboration, overseeing operational duties like security reviews and vulnerability triage, and evaluating emerging technologies, including AI tools, with a focus on access control and data protection.
### Who you are
- Advanced knowledge of operating system internals and core competency in networking, operating systems, and IAM
- Proven experience in one or more enterprise security core areas: platform security (macOS/Windows/Linux), SaaS governance, zero-trust architecture, or specialized infrastructure (R&D/Manufacturing)
- Foundational skills in Python, Go, or Java
- Ability to apply "Defense in Depth" and "Zero Trust" principles to complex, heterogeneous environments
- Proficiency in, or a strong aptitude for, leveraging AI tools to streamline development, paired with the critical judgment to audit generated output for architectural integrity, performance bottlenecks, and security risks
- Adaptability in learning and applying evolving AI systems and tools to remain at the forefront of engineering trends and modern development practices
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent years of experience
- 8+ years of post- bachelor’s corporate security experience; or a Master’s degree in a technical field + 7+ years of post-grad corporate security experience; or a PhD in a related technical field + 4 years of post-grad corporate security experience
- 1+ years of experience in engineering management
- Background evaluating and securely enabling emerging technologies, including AI tools and features, with a focus on upholding access control boundaries and data protection requirements
- Familiarity with securing lab, IoT, and ancillary systems, including applying hardening standards, monitoring, and access controls across enterprise environments
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with high attention to detail
- Work record of collaborating with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of a company

- Ensure the systems we build, from device trust capabilities to endpoint tooling, consistently demonstrate high technical quality and operational excellence
- Align the team’s direction with the strategic goals of the organization, participating in quarterly and annual planning to ensure security investments address the highest impact risks
- Recruit high-caliber engineers and build an engaging, collaborative team that influences the security culture of the broader organization
- Invest in team member career growth, using effective performance management tools to develop the next generation of security experts
- Facilitate effective cross-functional collaboration, particularly with adjacent Engineering Security functions, IT and Hardware Engineering teams, to offer specialized security consulting, tailor security systems and controls to meet business needs, and ensure a seamless security experience for employees
- Oversee the team’s shared operational responsibilities, including service requests, security reviews, and vulnerability triage
- Conduct security reviews and partner with cross-functional teams to evaluate new and existing systems, including utilizing AI tools and features, providing actionable mitigation guidance that upholds access control boundaries, protects sensitive data, and enables the business to move securely, while also managing exception handling and formal risk acceptance processes
