Role summary

SACR, a cybersecurity research firm, is seeking a Technical Product Manager/Research Analyst to identify, analyze, and communicate insights across cybersecurity domains and support the development of an AI-native research platform. This role involves defining product initiatives, translating strategy into roadmaps, and conducting market research. Responsibilities include creating written artifacts, synthesizing information from various sources, and supporting content creation and thought leadership. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical depth in areas like cloud, security, or AI, an analytical/research orientation, and experience in technical writing and communication. This is a remote-first, full-time position requiring 5+ years of experience in product management, strategy, or research.

SACR (Software Analyst Cyber Research) is hiring a
Technical Product Manager / Research Analyst
to help us systematically identify, analyze, and communicate insights across cybersecurity domains and to support the build-out of our AI-native research platform. This role reports directly to Francis Odum, Founder & CEO, SACR.

SACR is a cybersecurity research firm operating across Canada and the United States. We produce high-quality, analyst-driven research for enterprise security leaders, with a focus on becoming the AI-native authority in cybersecurity intelligence. We are a lean, mission-driven team building the systems and infrastructure to scale.

Position & Responsibilities

You will sit at the intersection of product thinking, technical depth, and research-driven communication. Your core responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Technical Product + Strategy

  • Partner with the CEO and research team to define and execute high-priority product initiatives (including internal AI agents and research platform workflows)
  • Translate ambiguous strategic goals into clear roadmaps, milestones, and deliverables
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with research, operations, and engineering to drive execution and keep stakeholders aligned

Research + Insight Development

  • Conduct structured market and domain research across cybersecurity (cloud, security operations, identity, data & AI)
  • Create frameworks, memos, and written artifacts that simplify complex systems into clear insights
  • Synthesize signals from practitioners, vendors, and public sources into actionable conclusions

Communication + Thought Leadership Support

  • Draft or support writing for research notes, briefs, and internal/external content (including LinkedIn-style insights)
  • Help shape messaging, narratives, and category perspectives with a high bar for clarity and rigor
  • Support preparation for advisory calls, presentations, and executive briefings

Duties may evolve over time to reflect business needs.

Target Candidate Profile (What success looks like)

We’re looking for a technically fluent, research-minded product leader and not a generic PM. We prioritize candidates who:

  • Have strong technical depth (cloud, security, infrastructure, AI, or developer tooling)
  • Demonstrate an analytical / research orientation (writing, frameworks, market analysis)
  • Have experience communicating insights (blogs, reports, LinkedIn content, speaking)
  • Sit at the intersection of Product Management / Technical Domain Expertise / Strategic Thinking

Ideal backgrounds may include:

  • Product Managers at cybersecurity, cloud, or infrastructure companies
  • Solutions Architects or Technical PMs who transitioned into strategy
  • Former consultants now in technical product roles
  • Analysts from similar firms

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in product management, strategy, research, or adjacent technical roles
  • Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality written work (blogs, research notes, memos, reports, or equivalent)
  • Comfort operating in a fast-moving, remote-first environment with evolving processes
  • Strong systems thinking and attention to detail
  • Cybersecurity domain familiarity strongly preferred (or willingness to ramp quickly)

Base Salary:

  • Competitive, paid in accordance with SACR's regular payroll practices
  • Bonus: Performance-linked
  • Equity: Eligible after 6-month probationary period
