Role Description
This is a full-time remote role for a Senior Software Engineer. The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing back-end systems and applications, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring secure and scalable software architecture. Daily tasks include programming, building software solutions, performing code reviews, and contributing to the continuous improvement of our technology platform to enhance sleep care delivery.
What You’ll Do in this Role
In this role, you’ll own major parts of our platform—designing secure systems, building scalable services, and setting engineering standards across the stack.
You’ll work closely with product, design, DevOps, and ML teams as you contribute to a high-impact, security-focused platform trusted by businesses and biggest brands worldwide.
This position is ideal for someone who combines deep technical ability with strong product intuition, a security-first mindset, and a passion for building reliable systems end-to-end.
What You'll Do
Platform & Full-Stack Engineering
- Architect, build, and scale secure backend services using
NestJS, TypeScript,
and
Prisma
- Develop highly performant, resilient UIs with
React
- Design and maintain secure, well-structured APIs and data access layers for sensitive PII/PHI
- Work with
PostgreSQL (Aurora), JSONB
, and hybrid relational models
- Leverage
Redis
and
OpenSearch
for caching, search, and analytics workloads
- Lead efforts to improve performance, reliability, and observability across the system
Security, Privacy & Compliance Mindset
- Champion secure coding and least-privilege design across services and infrastructure
- Proactively monitor CVEs, manage dependencies, and strengthen infrastructure posture
- Participate in and help lead threat modeling, risk assessments, and incident response readiness
- Contribute to compliance-oriented engineering practices (SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI, etc.)
- Hand-on and drive architectural discussions and influence long-term technical direction
- Conduct thoughtful code reviews and mentor other engineers
- Partner closely with product, design, and ML teams to define scope, deliverables, and tradeoffs
- Build internal tools, automation, CI/CD workflows, and developer experience improvements
- Help evolve engineering best practices, documentation, and operational maturity
Who You Are
- 3-5+ years of professional experience in full-stack or backend engineering
- Strong expertise with
JavaScript/TypeScript, NestJS, React, and API development
- Deep understanding of
PostgreSQL, JSONB,
indexing, and performance tuning
- Experience working with
AWS
, ideally E
KS, Aurora, Lambda, IAM,
and cloud networking
- Familiar with Python for scripting or machine learning integration
- Strong appreciation for application and cloud security—you think like an attacker and build like a guardian
- Experience working in identity, fintech, healthtech, or regulated environments is a plus
- Comfortable owning large features independently and influencing architecture-level decisions
