Role summary

Solo is seeking a Senior Fullstack Engineer, primarily focused on UI development, to build and scale AI infrastructure. This remote US-based role involves transforming complex cloud-native technologies into intuitive user experiences using React, TypeScript, and Vite, while also contributing to Go and Rust APIs on Kubernetes. You will collaborate with designers and product managers, own UI/UX improvements, and contribute to open-source projects. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of frontend experience, 2+ years with React/TypeScript, and experience with containerized environments and API design.

About the role

As a UI-Focused Fullstack Engineer at Solo, you’ll bring our cutting-edge cloud and AI products to life for our customers. Your work will transform complex infrastructure into intuitive, engaging, and delightful user experiences across web applications. While this is a full stack role that will include occasional back-end work, expect that at least 80% of your day to day responsibilities will be front-end focused.

You’ll collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and backend engineers to craft interfaces that make advanced technology accessible. You’ll contribute to both frontend frameworks and backend APIs, ensuring usability and performance go hand in hand. Along the way, you’ll have opportunities to contribute to open source, partner with our customers, and directly influence the adoption of Solo’s products across industries.

Job Description

Own and improve the UI and UX of React Typescript Vite web applications that connect to Go and Rust APIs on Kubernetes.

Gather and analyze requirements across GitHub and Slack to inform design and implementation.

Design web interfaces with UX in mind, both independently and in coordination with an external designer that uses Figma.

Transform designs into polished, functional applications.

Integrate AI tools into development processes, adhere to the team's established coding standards, and continuously adopt the latest best practices.

Participate in code reviews, including testing and reviewing React Typescript PR’s, driving technical excellence across the stack.

Contribute to APIs and backend services that power rich frontend functionality.

Champion UI/UX best practices and advocate for the customer experience.

Help evolve our engineering processes and tools as we scale.

Transform ambiguous requirements into actionable tasks, focusing on high-impact deliverables that provide the most value for our users.

Job Requirements:

High level of professional responsibility

Excellent communication

Ability to learn and adapt quickly.

Proven ability to design and implement complex, responsive UIs with HTML, CSS, React, and Typescript.

3+ years of experience building production-grade web applications, with a focus on frontend development.

2+ years of hands-on experience with React and TypeScript in production environments.

Strong understanding of REST or gRPC API design and consumption.

Experience deploying applications on Kubernetes, Docker, or other containerized/cloud-native environments.

Familiarity with UI/UX design principles, prototyping, or collaboration with design teams.

Knowledge of frontend and backend testing frameworks and best practices.

Proficiency with Git-based workflows and collaborative engineering practices.

Bonus Experience:

Experience implementing multi-view data visualizations.

Experience using AI technologies.

Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL).

Contributions to open source projects, ideally in the cloud-native or frontend ecosystem.

Experience working in agile, fast-paced, or startup environments.
