Our client is seeking a forward‑thinking Senior Director of Network Security Engineering to lead enterprise‑wide strategy, architecture, and execution of advanced network and firewall security. This role will shape the future of infrastructure protection, drive Zero Trust adoption, and lead high‑performing engineering teams responsible for safeguarding a complex hybrid/multi‑cloud environment.

What You’ll Lead

Strategic Leadership

• Define and execute the long‑term roadmap for enterprise network security
• Lead and mentor teams of architects and engineers
• Drive innovation, continuous improvement, and proactive risk management
• Oversee annual budgeting and strategic investment planning

Architecture & Delivery

• Build secure, scalable network security architectures across cloud and on‑prem environments
• Implement Zero Trust, micro‑segmentation, and identity‑based access controls
• Oversee deployment of advanced technologies (firewalls, ZTNA, NAC, IPS, secure web gateways)

Partnership & Influence

• Work cross‑functionally with IT, cybersecurity, operations, and business leaders
• Communicate complex security strategies and decisions to stakeholders
• Support enterprise transformation efforts with clear architectural direction

Operational Excellence

• Ensure high availability and optimal performance of network security infrastructure
• Lead incident response for network and firewall‑related issues
• Drive automation and diagnostic improvements to reduce operational friction

Governance & Compliance

• Define and enforce infrastructure security policies and standards
• Maintain compliance with regulatory, audit, and industry requirements
• Manage inventory and governance of firewalls, VPN, and network‑security devices

Talent Development

• Coach, mentor, and grow a diverse, high‑performing engineering organization
• Foster a strong culture of collaboration, learning, and inclusion

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (advanced degree a plus)
• 10+ years of progressive experience in network security engineering/architecture
• 7+ years leading enterprise‑scale network and firewall security programs
• Deep expertise in routing, switching, firewalls, NAC, Zero Trust, and cloud security
• Experience across AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and hybrid infrastructures
• Familiarity with automation tools (Python, Terraform, Ansible) strongly preferred
• Relevant certifications (CISSP, PCNSE, Zscaler, CCSP, cloud security) are a plus
• Exceptional communication, leadership, and problem‑solving ability
