Materials R&D Technician
Role summary
This Materials R&D Technician role focuses on daily lab operations to support material and process development, failure investigations, and process control validation. The position requires hands-on experience in setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting laboratory equipment, including mechanical test frames or characterization instruments. Responsibilities include performing various material tests, supporting instrument calibration, documenting and interpreting results, and maintaining lab safety and organization. A basic understanding of material science is preferred. The role involves working off-shifts and overtime as needed, with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Compensation ranges from $26.00 to $44.00 per hour based on experience and level.

MATERIALS R&D TECHNICIAN
This individual will be a key team member focusing on daily lab operations to support material & process developments, failure investigations, process control validation, and more. A basic understanding of material science fundamentals is preferred, though not required. Hands-on lab experience is required. The ideal candidate is highly skilled in setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting laboratory equipment. Success in this role will require being hands-on, flexible, a quick learner, organized, detail-oriented, and having a collaborative, can-do attitude.

Pay range: Materials R&D Tech/Level 1: $26.00 - $32.00/hour
Materials R&D Tech/Level 2: $30.00 - $38.00/hour
Materials R&D Tech/Level 3: $35.00 - $44.00/hour
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
