We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer who is passionate about building scalable data platforms and advanced analytics solutions that help improve healthcare outcomes. In this role, you will design and deliver modern data pipelines and data platforms on AWS, enabling healthcare organizations to unlock insights from complex data. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines to ingest, transform, and store large volumes of healthcare data.
- Build batch and near real-time data pipelines using modern big data technologies.
- Analyze raw enterprise data sources and define data transformation and architecture requirements.
- Implement data security best practices including encryption, de-identification, and role-based access control.
- Optimize data lake and data warehouse performance and architecture.
- Automate manual data processes and improve data delivery efficiency.
- Build and maintain high-quality, scalable big data solutions using modern cloud tools.
- Define backup, recovery, and security strategies for enterprise data solutions.
- Ensure successful deployment and integration of data solutions across platforms.
- Mentor team members and provide technical leadership in data engineering initiatives.
Required Qualifications
✔ 6+ years of experience in Data Engineering
✔ 2+ years experience with Python or Scala/Java
✔ Strong expertise in SQL (query optimization, performance tuning, large datasets)
✔ Hands-on experience with Data Lake & Data Warehouse architectures (Medallion Architecture preferred)
✔ Experience with AWS data services including:
- AWS Glue
- EMR / Spark
- Redshift
- Kinesis
- S3
✔ Experience with cloud integrations and data migrations (AWS / Azure)
✔ Familiarity with GitHub and cloud development tools
✔ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Spark for data processing and ML workflows Knowledge of Data Catalog and Metadata Management tools Experience with data visualization tools Exposure to healthcare data standards including EDI, HIPAA, HL7, and FHIR Experience leading teams, mentoring engineers, or technical leadership GCP Data Engineer Certification is a plus
