Role summary

The Compliance GNSS Lab Test Engineer will validate GNSS and cellular positioning performance on mobile devices, focusing on 3GPP technologies like ECID and OTDOA, and protocols such as LPP, SUPL, and RRLP. This role involves executing CTIA GNSS OTA and E911 certification tests, developing Python automation scripts for testing and data analysis, and utilizing industry-standard platforms like Keysight, Spirent, and Rohde & Schwarz. The engineer will analyze results, identify root causes, report defects, and support debugging efforts to ensure product readiness and compliance with carrier and regulatory standards. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential for resolving technical issues.

Job Description

  • Perform validation of GNSS and cellular positioning performance on mobile devices across multiple carriers.
  • Test and analyze 3GPP-based positioning technologies, including ECID and OTDOA, with in-depth evaluation of LPP, SUPL, and RRLP protocols and procedures.
  • Execute CTIA GNSS OTA and E911 certification test cases, ensuring compliance with carrier and regulatory standards.
  • Develop and maintain Python-based automation scripts for test execution, log collection, and data analysis.
  • Automate device control and testing workflows using ADB for Android platforms; contribute to building and enhancing automation frameworks and regression environments.
  • Conduct test execution using industry-standard platforms such as Keysight, Spirent, and Rohde & Schwarz.
  • Perform GNSS performance validation, including KPI analysis such as Time to First Fix (TTFF), positioning accuracy, and sensitivity.
  • Analyze test results, identify root causes, and report defects to engineering teams.
  • Support GNSS debugging and mobile device troubleshooting to ensure product readiness.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including modem and GNSS software teams, to resolve technical issues.
  • Adhere to company policies and quality standards to ensure product integrity.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of 3GPP positioning technologies (ECID, OTDOA) and related LTE/NR specifications.
  • Solid knowledge of LTE and 5G NR technologies.
  • Experience with E911 positioning validation and certification processes.
  • Proficiency in Python scripting for test automation.
  • Hands-on experience with GNSS or wireless test platforms such as Keysight, Spirent, or Rohde & Schwarz.
