Role summary

Spectrum Brands' Home & Garden business unit is seeking an Assistant Product Manager in St. Louis, Missouri. This role supports product management, innovation, and brand initiatives within the consumer goods sector. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field, or 2-3 years of relevant experience. Key responsibilities include leveraging analytical and problem-solving skills, understanding financial fundamentals, utilizing tools like Power BI and Excel, and collaborating effectively across functions. Exposure to new product development and consumer insights is beneficial.

Division Information

The Home & Garden business unit of Spectrum Brands is based in St. Louis, Missouri with distribution, manufacturing and sales offices throughout the US and globe. We are a leading supplier of consumer products nationally for the home, lawn and garden, insect and weed control markets. We deliver groundbreaking products of exceptional value and top-notch quality to consumers with our well-recognized brands including Spectracide®, Hot Shot®, Cutter®, Repel®, Black Flag®, Garden Safe®, EcoLogic® and Liquid Fence®.

Education and Experience Profile

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Management, or related field required.
  • Or 2–3 years of experience in marketing, product management, innovation, brand, or a related business role preferred.
  • Exposure to new product development processes, cross functional project work, or consumer insights is a plus.

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; comfortable working with data.
  • Basic financial acumen and interest in learning P&L fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Power BI, Nielsen, Numerator, Excel, and project management software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate across functions.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Self‑motivated, curious, and eager to learn.
  • Strong consumer and market orientation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
