Senior Data Scientist, Field Engineering
Role summary
We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist with experience in Industrial Analytics and Field Engineering to join our R&D team. This role involves developing hands-on applications using Spotfire, Python, R, and Javascript/Typescript to enhance customer analytical capabilities. You will lead field-inspired R&D projects, applying methods from data integration, exploratory analytics, data science, machine learning, statistical modeling, and Agentic AI. Responsibilities include delving into Industrial AI challenges, engaging with customers, guiding R&D projects, creating reusable data models and workflows, and collaborating on product roadmaps. The role requires innovation in AI and DSML applications, building prototypes, and participating in technical customer engagements.
We are looking for Field R&D Data Scientists and Developers with experience in Industrial Analytics to join our team. The right candidate is seeking an opportunity to deliver hands-on applications to grow our customers' analytical capabilities with Spotfire and tools including Python, R, Javascript / Typescript. You will join a team of talented R&D data scientists and developers as a key team member and play a significant role in developing our capabilities. You will lead field-inspired R&D projects to extend Spotfire using methods from data integration, exploratory analytics, data science, machine learning, statistical modeling and Agentic AI. You will see R&D projects through its inception, design, deployment, customer feedback, and publication.
Responsibilities
- Delve deep into Industrial AI, Data Science and Analytics challenges.
- Engage with customers to understand requirements
- Perform and guide R&D projects in the field of AI and Industry Analytics.
- Example topics of research and projects include Agentic AI, digital twins, anomaly detection, time series, geospatial and mathematical modeling of industry processes.
- Create reusable data models, workflows and test suites in order to streamline project delivery.
- Collaborate with product management and engineering on field engineering and product roadmaps.
- Innovate in the areas of application and deployment of AI and DSML methods
- AI, Visualization and Data Science - create applications with Python, Typescript and related technologies.
- Participate in technical customer engagements through understanding Spotfire use cases, providing guidance, and building prototypes and applications.
Qualifications
- Experience with Spotfire and other software components for data science, integration and programming environments e.g. Python, R, Javascript, Typescript
- An undergraduate or masters degree in STEM (Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, Engineering, Science, or related analytical field of study) with classes in statistics and or computer science.
