Director of Sales - Backstage
Role summary
The Director of Sales - Backstage will lead the sales efforts for Spotify's B2B SaaS business, Shipping Our Expertise (SOE), which is built on the Backstage platform. This role is responsible for driving revenue targets across new business, expansion, and retention for products like Backstage Portal and Confidence, which leverage AI to enhance developer portals. The Director will lead, coach, and grow a distributed sales team, define and execute a sales strategy targeting engineering leaders and platform teams, and collaborate with Product and Engineering to influence the roadmap. Success requires deep product expertise, strong forecasting discipline, and the ability to build scalable sales processes from the ground up. The role emphasizes educating the market on innovative solutions and requires a data-driven approach to performance and decision-making.
