Role summary

Spotify's Podcast Mission is seeking an Engineering Manager II to lead the Creator and Publisher Analytics team. This role involves managing the end-to-end delivery of complex engineering initiatives, partnering with Product and Design to shape roadmaps, and fostering a strong team culture focused on psychological safety and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have experience leading engineering teams in data and analytics domains, guiding architectural discussions, and leveraging data to inform decisions. A curiosity for AI's application in engineering workflows and product capabilities is also valued. This is a remote position within the Eastern Standard Time zone.

The Podcast Mission develops strategies and builds products that serve creators and listeners interested in podcast and video content. As the #1 podcast platform in the world, we look to continue improving and scaling the experience of podcasts on Spotify. We build and maintain products like Spotify for Creators and Megaphone, and are always eager to provide creators with easy ways to increase their audiences on Spotify and give them new innovative means for monetization.

The Podcast Mission is the product and technology team responsible for building tools that support creators across their entire journey — from hosting and distribution to audience growth, monetization, and insights.

Within this mission, the Megatron squad sits in the Creator and Publisher Experience product area. This team owns core analytics surfaces across Spotify for Creators and Megaphone, helping creators better understand their audiences and grow their shows. Formed through the merger of two established teams, the squad is now focused on building a modern analytics platform across Spotify’s podcast ecosystem."

What You'll Do

You will lead the end-to-end delivery of complex engineering initiatives, from early scoping through launch and iteration.

You will partner closely with Product and Design to shape a technically sound and achievable roadmap.

You will support your team in delivering high-impact work by removing blockers and improving team processes over time.

You will empower engineers to clearly communicate technical decisions with cross-functional partners.

You will foster a strong team culture through regular 1:1s, feedback, and a focus on psychological safety.

You will guide architectural discussions, balancing short-term needs with long-term system quality.

You will evaluate trade-offs across technical investments, including platform evolution and technical debt.

You will use data and business metrics to inform decisions and measure impact.

You will model and encourage thoughtful use of AI to improve development workflows and enable better insights for creators.

Who You Are

You have experience leading engineering teams delivering complex, cross-functional initiatives.

You are comfortable working in data and analytics domains, including concepts like pipelines, migrations, and analytics infrastructure.

You know how to build trust quickly and guide teams through ambiguity and change.

You collaborate effectively with Product, Design, and other stakeholders across multiple teams.

You have experience building or evolving team culture, especially in periods of transition or growth.

You care about creating an inclusive, supportive environment where individuals can do their best work.

You communicate clearly and adapt your message for both technical and non-technical audiences.

You are curious about how AI can improve engineering workflows, product capabilities, and team effectiveness.

Where You'll Be

This team operates within the Eastern Standard time zone for collaboration.

The United States base range for this position is $ 164,448 - $ 234,926, plus equity. The benefits available for this position include health insurance, six month paid parental leave, 401(k) retirement plan, a monthly meal allowance, 23 paid days off, 13 paid flexible holidays. These ranges may be modified in the future.
