Job Summary
STAFFXPERT LLC is seeking a UX/UI Designer on behalf of our client in New York, NY. The selected candidate will support the design and enhancement of enterprise-level applications that enable data-driven decision-making in an education-focused environment. This role involves working across the full product lifecycle—from discovery and user research to prototyping, testing, and final design delivery—ensuring accessible, user-centered digital experiences for diverse user groups.
The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including developers, analysts, and stakeholders to modernize legacy systems and improve usability, accessibility, and overall user experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead UX/UI design activities across the full product lifecycle, including discovery, research, design, testing, and implementation support
- Conduct user research such as interviews, usability testing, and surveys to gather insights and inform design decisions
- Develop user personas, journey maps, workflow diagrams, and other UX artifacts to guide product strategy
- Create wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes to communicate design concepts and validate solutions
- Translate research findings and user feedback into actionable design improvements
- Collaborate with developers, product owners, and stakeholders to ensure seamless design implementation
- Support front-end design tasks using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript as needed
- Ensure all designs follow accessibility standards and best practices (WCAG 2.0/2.1 compliance)
- Maintain design documentation and contribute to design systems and style guides
- Stay current with UX/UI trends, tools, and responsive design best practices
- Present design concepts, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in UX/UI design or digital product design
- Strong experience conducting user research and producing UX deliverables (personas, journey maps, user flows, etc.)
- Proficiency in UX/UI tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, InVision, or similar platforms
- Experience designing interactive prototypes and user-centered digital experiences
- Solid understanding of Human-Centered Design (HCD) principles
- Experience working with HTML5, CSS3, and basic JavaScript
- Strong knowledge of responsive design principles and usability best practices
- Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG 2.0/2.1)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working on large-scale enterprise, government, or education sector projects
- Familiarity with legacy system modernization or data-driven applications
- Experience working in Agile or cross-functional development environments
- Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills
