Role summary
State Farm's Property Causality Product team is seeking an experienced Software Engineer passionate about automation and enabling product teams. This hybrid role requires candidates to live within 180 miles of a hub location (Bloomington, IL; Richardson, TX; Dunwoody, GA; Tempe, AZ). The position involves analyzing, designing, deploying, supporting, and securing technology, with a strong emphasis on utilizing up-to-date coding, testing, security, and DevOps best practices. Familiarity with monitoring tools like Splunk, DevOps tools like Terraform, and languages such as Go, Java, Python, or TypeScript is highly preferred. The role also involves designing and optimizing customer communication templates.

The Product delivery Engineering team under the Property Causality Product (business lines) is looking for an experienced Software Engineer who is passionate about automation, enabling product teams, and furthering your skills as an engineer. Please note that while technical skills are extremely important, we are also looking for folks that display desired soft skills that add to our current team dynamic.
Qualifications
Successful candidates will have 5 years of experience with the following:
Highly Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with platform monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, ROSA (Red Hat OpenShift Service on AWS), and Dynatrace.
- Experience with DevOps tools such as Terraform, Chef, Puppet, and Ansible.
- Go, Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript and other language installations
- Spring Boot, SOAP and Restful API, CI/CD pipelines
- Exhibit a DevOps and Agile mindset where team is accountable for product from inception to sunset
- Utilize up-to-date coding, testing, security, DevOps, and software engineering best practices to maintain and create new applications that support business requirements
- Responsible for the analysis, design, deployment, support, and security of technology to ensure the organization is efficiently managing its technology and data-related assets in accordance
- Willingness to design, develop, and optimize OpenText Exstream templates for high-volume, personalized customer communications using CN Design Manager and Communication Designer.

- Strong aptitude and demonstrated ability to learn new programming languages and frameworks.
- Technical curiosity and enthusiasm for learning new technologies and following industry best practices and trends.
- Understanding of Customer Communication Management (CCM) concepts, including document composition and multi-channel delivery.
- Experience with batch, on-demand, and interactive communication processing workflows.

Because work-life balance is a priority at State Farm, compensation is based on our standard 38:45-hour work week!
- Potential starting salary range: $107,000.00 - $142,000.00
- Starting salary will be based on skills, background, and experience
- High end of the range limited to applicants with significant relevant experience
- Potential yearly incentive pay up to 15% of base salary
