Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Lead Software Engineer to drive the technical direction and delivery for key internal facing contact center solutions. In this role, you will drive outcome delivery of integrated, omni-channel contact flows that connect employees and Agents to Support Center, Agency Sales Resources, Human Resources, and many others. This role also presents opportunities to contribute to Navi – a key digital entry point for Agents and their teams powered by generative AI.
- Lead technical delivery and solution design for Hercules and AWS-based contact center flows (voice, chat, text/SMS)
- Direct the development of generative AI solutions related to contact optimization (right channeling), intent determination, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation
- Guide and mentor an engineering team consisting of internal and external resources, ensuring technical deliverables adhere to State Farm engineering, UX, and SRE frameworks
- Apply advanced software engineering skills to design, build, and maintain full-stack applications.
- Triage and resolve complex technical issues, staying current with technology trends and applying best practices in software and data design.
- Influence product vision and technical direction; promote collaboration, engagement, and knowledge-sharing within the product suite and larger ET community.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Manage multiple efforts spanning several business areas, always with an emphasis on exceptional user experience and enterprise collaboration.
Qualifications
- Possesses a proven experience and proficiency in cloud computing technologies; namely:
- Contact Center & Conversational AI: Amazon Connect, Lex, Polly
- Serverless & API Development: AWS Lambda, API Gateway
- Data Management & Security: DynamoDB, S3, IAM
- Infrastructure as Code: Terraform
- DevOps Practices: Git, GitOps, CI/CD, Pipelines
- Monitoring & Visualization: CloudWatch, Dynatrace
- Notification & Messaging Services: SNS, SES
- Programming Languages: Python, Node.js
- Demonstrates strong consulting and problem-solving skills
- Drives initiatives with a strong focus on achieving measurable outcomes.
- Champions the use of Generative AI (e.g., Co-Pilot) in daily development workflows (coding, documentation, testing, and ideation).
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams and business areas.
- Embraces change, adjusts easily to new challenges, and maintains a focus on excellence in outcome delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to work with and/or lead offshore resources is a plus.
Our Benefits
Because work-life balance is a priority at State Farm, compensation is based on our standard 38:45-hour work week!
- Potential starting salary range: $107,000 to $142,000.
- Starting salary will be based on skills, background, and experience
- High end of the range limited to applicants with significant relevant experience
- Potential yearly incentive pay up to 15% of base salary
