Salary: $45,000 - $52,000 annual

Position Summary & Responsibilities:

Position Summary:

The Secretary of State agency is looking for a data analyst position within the Division of Elections. The Division of Elections collects and maintains a significant number of data sets in the areas of voter registration, election results, and operations of state and county election administration.
This position would report to the Director of Elections.

Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

• Educate the public about election data, including where to access, how to use and what it means.
• Assist with responses to open records requests.
• Create and maintain charts, graphs and other tools to help the public understand trends.
• Ensure the integrity, accuracy and reliability of data by implementing quality control measures and resolving data discrepancies or anomalies.
• Analyze data and make recommendations to improve performance at both the state and county level.
• Assist with training of state and county staff in collecting and reporting different data sets.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in statistical analysis or political science preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma
Work experience with data and/or elections

Preferred Qualifications:

The successful applicant will be well-organized, with exceptional time management skills and will be able to work independently:

• Bachelor’s degree in statistical analysis or political science preferred.
• Experience in elections or politics in general.
• Ability to complete tasks accurately and timely.
• Excellent MS Office knowledge.
• Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
• Discretion and confidentiality.
• Must possess a positive attitude.
